About Our Chiropractic Services

The word “chiropractic” comes from a Greek word meaning “done by hand,” reflecting a hands-on, patient-centered approach to care. At Chagrin Valley Chiropractic & Acupuncture Center, we provide personalized, gentle chiropractic care for patients throughout the valley and Northeast Ohio.

Chiropractic focuses on diagnosing and treating mechanical disorders of the spine and musculoskeletal system, with particular attention to how these issues affect the nervous system.

When joints, especially in the spine, are not moving properly, they can interfere with nerve function and contribute to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Chiropractic adjustments help restore proper motion, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal and function.

Conditions We Treat with Chiropractic Adjustments

Many patients visit our Chagrin Valley chiropractic office for back or neck pain, but care often extends beyond that. We commonly treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:

  • Back pain and lower back pain
  • Neck pain and stiffness
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sciatica and nerve-related pain
  • Hip and knee discomfort
  • Muscle tension and mobility issues
  • Shoulder, arm, and wrist pain
  • Foot and ankle issues
  • Jaw (TMJ) tension

Some patients also seek chiropractic care for concerns such as headaches, dizziness, or general tension, as part of a broader, wellness-focused approach.

Chiropractic Techniques We Use

As trusted chiropractors serving Chagrin Valley and the surrounding Northeast Ohio communities, Drs. Nassif & Hurguy use gentle, effective techniques tailored to each patient.

The Activator® Method

Their primary approach is the Activator® Method, a precise, low-force chiropractic technique that uses a handheld instrument to deliver controlled adjustments. This method is especially well-suited for patients looking for a comfortable, non-invasive alternative to traditional manual adjustments.

Drop Table Technique

The drop table is another gentle chiropractic technique. It uses gravity to improve alignment, reduce tension, and alleviate pain without twisting or cracking, often with a “drop” to treat areas such as the lumbar or cervical spine. A specialized table with cushioned platforms is used to lift and drop a few inches when a quick thrust is applied, allowing for precise, low-force spinal adjustments. It is commonly used in the Thompson Technique.

Other Traditional Techniques

In addition, both doctors are trained in traditional chiropractic adjustments, using hands-on techniques to restore motion in the spine and extremities when appropriate.

To support longer-lasting results, care may also include soft tissue therapies that address muscles, tendons, and ligaments—helping to reduce tension, improve mobility, and enhance overall function.

Additional techniques may include flexion-distraction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and other supportive therapies based on your individual needs.

Acupuncture & Shockwave Therapies

In addition to all these chiropractic techniques, we offer Acupuncture and Shockwave therapies. Follow these links to learn more about each.
